Jack started his martial arts training around 1960 in Jiu Jitsu and Kodokan judo, and in 1963 he began the study of Uechi Ryu in Boston, MA under George Mattson. Because of his experience in boxing, judo, jiu jitsu, and Uechi karate, he was one of the first instructors to integrate these arts into his martial arts teaching. Currently, Jack is one of the highest, ranking Uechi/Shohei Ryu master instructors and is an 9th Degree Black Belt. Jack is a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific, Battle of Iowa Jima. In addition to his schools in Boston, MA, Jack supervises numerous other Uechi/Shohei Schools in such states as Pennsylvania, Florida, and Arizona. Pictured: Jack Summers, Bruce Lee
